I am a mother of three, grateful for the unwavering love and support of my wonderful husband that has allowed me to heal from past trauma and become the strong and resilient person I am today.
As a lifelong learner, I am driven by a thirst for knowledge and a determination to overcome the scars of my past abuse. My mission is to empower and uplift those whose voices have been silenced, those who strive to make a positive impact on the world, and those who are seeking their true purpose.
The phrase “Rise up” resonates deeply with me, symbolizing the courage to stand tall and take action in the face of adversity. It embodies inner strength and rebellion against injustice, inspiring individuals to confront challenges, fight for their beliefs, and triumph over obstacles.
Through years of study and introspection, I have discovered that my true purpose lies in understanding how my body responds to trauma. By embracing this journey of healing and self-discovery, I aim to find peace, self-love, and a sense of purpose that I can share with others.
Meeting Dennis Kucinich was a positive experience. His engagement in local issues and support for our community is appreciated. Rising up!
Testimonials
From the moment I first connected with Nancy, it was clear that something special was in the works. Her gracious demeanor and kind nature made our initial interactions a delight, and I am pleased to report that she remains just as lovely and courteous to this day.
Serving as her project manager throughout the entire publication process has been a true pleasure, and our work on her website is a testament to our ongoing collaboration. Nancy has consistently proven to be a dream client. Her communication is always clear, her gratitude for our efforts unwavering. Working alongside her is a seamless and enjoyable experience, thanks to her positive attitude and professional approach.
As I delved into the pages of her book, I was struck by the immense courage and strength she displayed in sharing her story of overcoming trauma. Nancy's bravery is truly inspiring, and I have no doubt that her dedication and enthusiasm will lead to many more successful endeavors. I eagerly anticipate our continued partnership and look forward to witnessing her future achievements with great anticipation.
When I met Nancy, it felt like a sudden revelation. She was so familiar, stunningly beautiful, with short hair, a crop top, and an attitude that mixed disinterest with sweetness. It may sound strange, but that's Nancy for you. She was looking for a job and ended up at my workplace during a shift I wasn't supposed to be working. It was fate because meeting her was like finding true love amidst my loneliness and exhaustion from bartending in the city's bustling spots.
After a particularly awful date, I prayed for genuine love, and Nancy came into my life like an answer to that prayer. Despite not being particularly religious, I saw her as a lifeline. We've been together for 21 years and have a daughter named Emma, who is incredibly loving but also deeply affected by her past.
Nancy's upbringing in a Greek family was steeped in tradition, but behind the scenes, there was darkness. Her father, her mother—who was the real devil—her family's reaction to her speaking out against abuse, and the subsequent abandonment by those she thought were her loved ones—all of it was heartbreaking to witness.
Despite the pain, Nancy tried to maintain ties with her culture, attending Greek festivals and dancing solo, only to be shunned by the same people who should have supported her. Her strength in the face of such rejection is astounding.
When we got together, I saw Nancy's light amidst the darkness, but she constantly tried to shield me from her struggles. Her attempts to reconcile with her family were repeatedly dashed, with only a few individuals like Gus and Angie standing by her side. Most were too afraid of her abusive father to speak out.
Despite everything, Nancy remains a productive professional, hiding her inner turmoil behind a facade of positivity. Few people truly understand the depth of her suffering, but I've witnessed it all and admire her strength immensely.
Nancy is a source of motivation. She really is a hero. Her own self-made hero. Her courage allowed her to speak up, acquire the support she needed to stop her father from abusing her sexually and to prevent him from hurting anyone else. It is horrible to experience any kind of sexual abuse, but it is truly life-changing to endure it from the person who is supposed to be your biggest protector. Nancy had the guts to stand up and end the harassment. She is a remarkable person given how she dealt with her tragedy and how hard she tried to get over it. She will now tell her experience in the hopes that she will help other people that have experienced similar trauma.
Nancy made the decision to break the cycle of abuse that had been affecting her and her younger sister thirty-two years ago. Nancy's decision to stop her father's abuse was brave and tough, and it led her down a convoluted route through a criminal justice system that does not support individuals who take such difficult but important decisions. Nancy was strong and devoted and she was willing to put her sister's safety ahead of her relationships with other family members. I was one of the detectives assigned to meet with Nancy and her school counsellor.
When you first meet Nancy, you are greeted by her dazzling eyes, charming smile, and the warmth of a dear friend. She is the real thing—no holds barred. It seems impossible that this person with the kind spirit could have recovered from the horrific and painful account of her childhood sexual abuse. She was strengthened by her love and her resolve to not let that define who she was. She developed a strong advocacy for wanting to assist people, even if doing so made her a target. Her objective became informing people that they are not alone and that they have options. Nancy told me that all of the hardships she endured to reveal the truth were worthwhile if her book could only assist one person. It is an honour for me to know her, and I hope that her book becomes a top seller filled with understanding and optimism.
I met Nancy years ago when we both worked for the same employer. We bonded over sharing life experiences and stories. Nancy's ability to listen deeply is remarkable. Like me, she's a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Her journey of healing has been incredibly inspiring. Hearing her story gives me the courage to navigate my own healing process. I'm thankful to have connected with such a sincere, loving, and inspiring woman like Nancy.
